Real estate brokers establish mostly fiduciary relationships with their clients. To act as a true fiduciary means to place their client’s interests ahead of the interests of all others – even their own. I started Black Crown Real Estate because it hurt watching my friends get coerced into spending every available dollar they had on a home exceeding their needs, then struggle to make the payments.  In a business where the agent is typically paid more when the client buys more, we encourage our clients to buy homes that are well within your financial means – a ‘less is more’ mentality, if you will.  What makes Black Crown better is our attention to detail while analyzing your individual needs. Striving to provide each client the best real estate experience of their life accompanied with sound guidance, expertise and education is our daily mission.

As an agent: I have the heart of a teacher and one of my greatest joys in life is helping people turn a house into a home.  My experience comes from owning investment property in Colorado Springs, Denver, Parker and Aurora since 2003. These properties have included single-family homes as well as condos and townhomes. I can help you buy, sell, rent or invest wisely anywhere in Colorado.

As a Soldier: It has been an honor to serve in the military since May, 2001. I flew the UH-60 Blackhawk for seven years including a deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2010-11. I’m currently a member of the Colorado National Guard.

My favorite hobby: Traveling has been a blessing. Almost three years of my life have been spent traveling the world for fun. Some of my favorite accomplishments are trekking to Mount Everest Base Camp, diving with Thresher sharks in the Philippines, running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, and mountain biking down the world’s most dangerous road in Bolivia. Please share any good travel stories or advice - I enjoy learning from others.

Catherine Carlin

Catherine Carlin is the Transaction and Marketing Manager for Black Crown Real Estate and oversees all of the marketing and administrative efforts. Since graduating from Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s Degree, her professional experience has taken her everywhere from child care and school management to the Army National Guard’s resource management. Her education, vast experience and strong work ethic have developed her into a Jack of all Trades, which Black Crown has only begun to tap into. Catherine has a bright future with the company and one we foresee evolving past administration and further into transactions and perhaps even a broker one day.

Catherine is a Denver native and currently lives in Centennial with her family. That family was recently expanded by one little lady when Catherine’s daughter Joslyn was born in September 2016. Joslyn is the highlight of her life and while Catherine thoroughly enjoys working with Black Crown, she much prefers her new position as Mommy over all others! Catherine is very grateful to work for such a wonderful company in Black Crown that supports and encourages family life and allows her to be present for her most important role of all, as a mom!

Christian has lived in Colorado Springs since 1990.  He and his wife have 2 children and he enjoys investing his free time with his family. Christian is an avid outdoorsman, a pilot and church volunteer. He has over 15 years of experience in real estate; has worked in mortgages, compliance, fraud analysis, commercial lending, and both residential and commercial property investment. He has been a licensed real estate agent since 2006 and his experience yields unique insight on the standard real estate transaction which can reduce stress caused by all the red tape in the industry.
